Mrkvicka Jr. with Kelly Helen Mrkvicka takes a look at the plague of the 21st century and one of the main contributors to the destruction of the American family-the sin of Adultery. Being a lay minister and a man who has studied the Word for many years, the author, Edward F. Mrkvicka Jr., gives not his opinion, but gives the absolute truth of God’s Word through an extensive categorical list of scripture therefore laying first a biblical foundation. Then by clearly stating first God’s view and comparing it with Society’s view, the author lays bare the truth about adultery and the devastating consequences of adultery, not only to the person who commits the sin, but to others we love in our life who are the innocent victims of this pervasive ripple effect sin that is so prevalent in our society.

Most do no realize the far-reaching consequences of the sin of adultery in their lives, nor the cost and the author makes no mistake that there is no such thing as ‘an innocent affair’. This book is an eye opener for most and highly recommended for anyone either contemplating an adulterous affair or for those who may have been entangled in an adulterous affair. The author shows the way out with some of most practical teachings culminated from the infallible Word of God to bring others out of their sin and into the light of the Lord.

Openly, but lovingly, the author shares the unavoidable, yet dire consequences of adultery and reveals that not only does it affect our lives spiritually and physically, but the sin has a ripple effect that goes on to “… virtually every innocent person in our lives” (p.11). The consequences are so monumental, that no one in their right mind “armed” with the truth of God’s Word would commit adultery, but sadly, the author concedes from a recent survey, “…that over 88 percent of Americans believe adultery is wrong. Yet 77 percent of marriages involve at least one adultery.” This alarming fact in our society today is bringing many to the wide-path of destruction. Quite simply put, it is choosing death over life.

Edward Mrkvicka’s true desire is two-fold, first for all those that may be contemplating adultery to know the absolute truth of God’s Word and the dire consequences and for those that are in an adulterous affair or have been in the past that they would also realize the devastating consequences and that the truth would bring true repentance in their life. Lastly, Mrkvicka’s desire is that all would receive eternal life in Jesus Christ. Again, the author does not give his opinion, but God’s view and His Holy Word. This book offers no excuses, nor apologies, but gives the truth of the Word of God. This book is truly a blessing to the body of Christ and to all who read it.

This subject is not an easy subject to be discussed, nor is it very popular, but with so many on the path to destruction in our society it is a must read for anyone entangled in or contemplating adultery. This fascinating and well-written book exposes the truth and deception in the sin of adultery and brings forth light to the subject. Thankfully, the author ends that there is hope and states, “God can save us” (p.11). For there is one hope, and that one hope is the forgiveness of sins through Jesus Christ. Come, read, know the truth and be set free.

Author Chris M. Tatevosian “Life Interrupted, It’s Not All About Me”

Author Chris M. Tatevosian in his book, “Life Interrupted, It’s Not All About Me” chronicles his bout with Multiple Sclerosis “MS”. Giving an inside look into his diagnosis and progression of the disease, Chris thought he was unstoppable as a young college student. Chris, early in his freshman year of college, started coming down with strange symptoms that the doctor’s could not diagnose. Shortly after a visit to another doctor that summer break, while at home, the author re-tells the story of how he realized that he did actually have MS when his father broke him out of his denial by telling him, “You have MS.” At such a tender age, only a freshman in college, Chris had realized that his life had forever changed.

Until then Chris had high hopes for his life and this story is an example of how one man’s life has been interrupted and dramatically changed by the disease known as MS. The author in his book illustrates that dealing with a chronic illness can not only disrupt one’s life, but also can become a chronic issue in a marriage. The author takes a hard look at what attitudes and actions can affect one with a chronic illness, while shedding light on what it can do to a marriage.

The author candidly describes situations, circumstances, and actions that arose within his own marriage, that caused misery to his spouse and eventually ended in the divorce of a marriage that everyone thought would never end. The author humbly admits that many actions were of his own doing. The author whole-heartedly writes about his own “poor me attitude” and openly shares his thoughts, emotions and reactions in his own life due to MS. I find this book to be so earnestly honest and refreshing, in that, the author does not hold back in an attempt to save face. This work from the author does a superb job of capturing the confusion, loss, anger, and frustration that a person can go through while fighting a chronic illness. Thank you Chris for sharing your struggles with us.

The author’s purpose in writing this book is to help others dealing with chronic illness and how their attitude towards their spouse can be destroying their marriage or relationships. This book gives the reader a pro-active approach and helps them identify their own behavior as positive or negative. This book will encourage anyone, chronic illness or not, to consider their own relationships and shares how to deal with poor attitudes and actions pro-actively before it grows like a cancer and destroys a marriage or relationship.

Several vitally important key techniques characterize the book; one being that open communication is a must between spouses and especially to a couple dealing with a chronic illness. The author illustrates that recognizing the other’s need just as much as the disabled person can be a marriage saver. The author so humbly admits that, “It’s Not All About Me.” This book will encourage you to open up to your spouse and give you the knowledge of how to go about communication in your marriage when dealing with chronic illness.

The author continues to make a profound statement in that, “Awareness of, and providing attention to, your relationship-destroying actions are the keys to saving your relationship.” (P.79) Whatever your situation may be, we can all learn from our own mistakes and the mistakes of others. If we were to think about the above quote and put it into motion into our own lives, just think of how many relationships could be saved. This book will impact your life on a highly positive level.

This well written book offers encouragement to any who are dealing with a chronic illness or who might have a loved one affected by any disease. Life is not easy, especially when dealing with the roller coaster ride of a day-to-day illness. You will find out that you are not alone and there is hope beyond a chronic illness.

“Life Interrupted, It’s Not All About Me” is a recommended must read for anyone with a chronic illness. Kudos to you Chris for writing this heart rendering and honest memoir! As one with a chronic illness myself, you caused me to look at my own reactions to my loved ones. This book will open your eyes to see any damaging behavior in your own life and give you the courage to do something about it. I find this book profound in that it is a gentle nudge (or rather gentle slap in the face) to others to look at their own actions in their lives and remember, “It’s Not All About Me.”

With colorful illustrations and an easy to read dialogue your child will be able to understand this book as Ashley accepts her new daddy, and her new life with wonderful excitement. We find out through the book that change is okay and can be a good thing for all the parties involved.

With the divorce rate being close to 50 percent these days, many young children have to adapt to the loss of a parent and/or a new stepparent. Change is not easy, especially when you don’t understand why it is happening. To a child this can be devastating and as parents it is imperative that these issues are addressed along with any feelings a child might have towards the change in the family dynamics. This book will help you do just that in a loving and compassionate way.

In his book, Author Milton K. Smith, concisely and firmly addresses the delicate subject of relationships and Christian dating in a simple and understandable way. Drawing a parallel between tabernacle, in ancient Jewish times, and the human spirit, the author sets forth a standard that is undeniable and biblically based. This is an urgent subject that needs to be more readily addressed in our youth and within our culture, as the morals have declined into the thinking that casual dating and casual mannerisms are acceptable. Not so, in this intriguing book, the author sets forth a firm foundation for what it means to be holy in relationships and to live a life acceptable to God.

This thought provoking book touches the readers’s very soul in causing one to reassess their own views when it comes to dating. Through an educating tone, like a father to a son or daughter, the author, brilliantly and eloquently poses the right questions to ask one self when considering a mate. Explaining step by step what it means to be a person with a body, soul and spirit, the author, puts in layman’s terms what it means to be filled with the Spirit of God and that the attributes to be looking for in a mate might not be what you think. As the author explains, it is of high importance to address the spiritual, as well as the physical, causing the reader to gauge the relationships that are being considered.

Setting a firm biblical perspective and foundation for an acceptable, in order relationship, the author goes on to describe the process of a healthy progression of a relationship, once a mate has been chosen. Using the example of a house and the various rooms, the author, exemplifies what exactly you should look for in a mate and how to proceed. By highlighting what is truly important, the author gives the reader the correct biblical standpoint for choosing a mate. If only our youths were taught this from the beginning there would be much less confusion and heartache!

A highly recommend book and quick read, this book can be used as a ministering tool to youths, singles and parents, alike, no matter what the age. In today’s world, this is an urgent issue that the author has addressed in a non-offensive manner, yet is biblically sound. Thank you Milton for writing this informative and much needed book!
